It is no longer a luxury lux-ury it is a part of the modern homi). Many other improvements have been a benefit to us who live in this fortun.-ate fortun.-ate age. We are learning the ways to maintain main-tain health and prevent sickness. We need clean homes, clean towns, clean bodies, clean food, clean cows, clean barns. We know what a blessing it is to have plenty of fresh air and the value of sunshine. Boards of Health protect us. Schools, Clinics, papers and magazines maga-zines all emphasize the value of good healthy bodies and suggest ways to obtain and maintain them. Our grand-parents and great grand-parents did not kuow many of the things that science and experience has taught us. In some of our larger cities the health of the people is better bet-ter than that in some of our agricultural agricul-tural communities. Why? Because they are spending more time taking better care of their bodies. Some communities are paying a doctor to keep them well. Disease control, general sanitation of public places and homes is a part of the health program. Sleeping with windows win-dows open or on a sleeping porch, keeping clean with regular haths, good whole food all count toward over coming sickness and enjoying good health. Good health cannot be purchased with money. It is yours if you will obey nature's laws and live for it. THE VALUE OP AN EDUCATION (By Leah Snow) Why get an Education? We hoys and girls of to-day have every advantage for getting an education. edu-cation. We are provided with well equipped and well supervised schools, excellent library, and delightful play grounds. Yet some of us do not make the best of our opportunities. Many students who complete the district dis-trict school never attend high school. We all know that we can not be too careful to have our Education proceed in the right direction. It is as difficult diffi-cult for people to undo their errors as it is for them to gain knowledge. We also know that it is knowledge that has converted the world from a desert of savage men, to the beauti-homes beauti-homes of civilization. Education has reference to the whole man the body, mind and heart, and strictly speaking it covers the whole area of life. Education is a progress it begins in life but has no end. We all know that a few well defined defin-ed facts and ideas are worth more than a whole library of uncertain knowledge. How wise then to secure as far as possible a complete and lasting Education. |
