IN FINAL PHASE The Uintah Utes met a very stubborn well coached team at Lehi Friday and after being played to a standstill by Lehl Lehi for the first 43 minutes got down to serious business of defending their Region Seven crown The Utes scored twice In the last five minutes of play for fora fora a 12 0 victory by fumbles and penalties At last weeks week's game Lehi won the toss and Uintah kicked to Boyd Peter Peter- Peterson son who returned to the 30 yard line Peterson posed to Pric for five yards Then Peterson carried to the 45 yard line for fora a first down Lehl Lehi was was penalized 15 yards for holding and on the same series they were unable to gain first down and were forced to kick Roberts carried the ball to the 45 yard line and on the first play Jim Lube passed to Jim McNaughton who was stopped on the five yard line The Utes Ules were unable to score with four downs and goal From this point on it seemed Lehi was fired up and Uintah lost Its drive The game Uintah team made a great stand and the Pioneers lost the ball on the Uintah two yard line and later pushed to the Uintah 13 yard line before failing Late In the fourth quarter Lehi fumbled on their 27 yard line McNaughton recovered This seemed to tobe tobe be the turning point of the game McNaughton Roberts and Lee carried th the ball bail for a first down then George GeorgeLee GeorgeLee Lee carried it over for a Uintah touchdown Uintah 16 Lehl Lehi O On the try for the extra point Uintah was off offside side George Lee kicked the ball Into the end the ball was put In play on the Pioneers 20 yard line and on the first play Peterson fumbled and Hr- Hr Horrocks rocks of Uintah recovered on the 13 yard line McNaughton hit the center of the line for three then on the next play battered his way over the goal line for the second Uintah touchdown Uintah 12 and Lehl Lehi o 0 Uintah was again off side on the try for the extra point Roberts carried it over but after the penalty of five yards line but on the first play after American Fork gained control of the ball Brian Wright broke through and tackled Searle of American Fork behind the AF goal for a safety and two points After fter the kickoff Uintah marched 76 yards in seven plays and scored the final touchdown the clincher being a pass from Lube to Britt Horrocks covering 17 yards Dick Roberts added the extra point on a right end
