Show Lapoint- Lapoint Tridell Lapoint-Tridell Tridell New water I The Tridell Lapoint-Tridell area has had culinary water since 1978 but because of recent growth in the area construction has now started on a new water treatment plant storage tanks and an extension of the current water delivery system According to Devon McKee Tridell the floors have already been poured for the new treatment facility and now is ready for the walls walIs There will wilI also be an extension con con- constructed on the existing building and the footings and concrete work is completed on that Two new storage tanks will also be installed One holding gallons and the other gallons February is the month set for completion of the water treatment plant but McKee explained that weather would have to cooperate te if they were to complete by that date The existing plant was built in 1978 and we increased in population faster than we thought we were going to explained McKee The facility is equipped with a capacity of gallons of treated water a minute The new addition will add another gallons to that capaci capaci- capacity ty a minute and is being built so the add on of another gallons of treated water can be done with minimum expense m There will be no replacing cing of water lines at this point but there will be an expansion of existing wa wa- wa water ter lines to better serve the two communities of La La- La Lapoint point and Tridell Also lines will extend south to the section line about 3 miles north of highway 40 There will be 11 4 miles of 8 inch line installed with feet of 6 inch The largest amount of pipe will willbe willbe be the 4 inch and about 51 2 miles of that will be installed This will provide add on capacity of another homes to the system About a year ago the water company started turning down applications for treated water as they had outgrown the system Since that time about 50 customers have applied for forand forand and will be connected as the lines are installed and the water comes on line The new school in Lapoint is one of the customers just waiting for water The new wa water ter will be piped into the line coming from Uriah Heaps Springs south of Tridell and also on the east side of Tridell where a 12 inch line is now located According to McKee as of now there is no planned increase of water rates They are now paying a 15 a month gallon minimum and 30 cents a 1000 gallon over that |
