Show i I I i Housing survey shows 1 13 1313 persons in Ashley Valley A housing survey recently conducted by Uintah Engineering and Land Surveying and Vernal City was revealed last week at City council meeting The survey indica indicated ted a total of persons in Ashley Valley Of the total resided in Vernal City 1803 1603 in Maeser Masser Water District service area and in the remaining Ashley Valley area Jensen and the Westside of the county were not included in the study area TilE THE SURVEY was taken in December 1974 and January 1975 counting every house and dwelling unit in multiple family structures An average family size of 35 persons was assumed for Vernal City and 36 persons for the remainder of the study area The study revealed a percent population increase in Ashley Valley since the 1970 censes During a four and one- one half year comparison period of growth Vernal City lead with a percent growth followed by Maeser percent and the remainder of Ashley Valley percent Other studies indicate there are approximately to in Uintah county Using the housing survey figures this would place about persons in the Jensen and westside areas of the county IN OTHER business brought before the city council it was announced that Ron Stone had been accepted as Chief Building Officer for the city Mr Stone comes from tram Provo where he has been employed by the Provo City as a building inspector He will assume the responsibilities of building inspection and zoning regulation in Vernal City when he arrives in the next week or two reported Glade I.
