Show Flaming Gorge fishing rot rated d slow but the fish are big By Verle Hanchett WILDLIFE RESOURCES Fishing at Flaming Gorge has been a little on the slow side since the opening of the fishing season but many large lake and brown trout have been taken A 14 lb Ib lake trout was taken from the Lucerne area along with several reported in the 6 10 pound class Some large brown 14 to 24 pounds have been taken also in the same area From the dam area to Sheep Creek fishing has been fairly good Again they are catching some nice lake trout in the Jarvies Canyon area area and Red Canyon area along with the Dutch John Draw and the Cedar Springs areas It seems as though the lake trout are being caught in areas of the reservoir with some of the larger fish taken in the Lucerne area The Green River has been spotty and fishing from Little Hole down to the Colorado state stateline stateline stateline line has been very slow due to muddy water Storms have kept Red Creek running muddy and andas as a result the river has been quite slow to fishing The river should clear up pretty soon The upper stretch from the dam downstream to Little Hole has been good for taking fish about 8 inches to 11 inches and anda a few larger ones Carrying You hacK bauc The American cotton industry industry indus try had its beginning in the Tidewater area of Virginia where early colonists grew cot cotton ton tori on Q ona a small c I 1619 |
