Show Sunrise synopsis at Vernal Center By lIa ha Sue Swasey A small crowd quietly gathered together bowed heads in prayer came to attention attention at at the call of the colors those who could stood as the colors were presented all joined in the Pledge of Allegiance and voices of past present and future generations chorused the National Anthem Troops were dismissed and four young Americans representing our our Boy Scouts of America had formally heralded in a 1975 Flag Day Ceremony for the Sunrise Convalescent residents Explorer Ronald Perry Scout Stewart Beaslin Scout Lynn Reynolds and Cub Dale Harrison quietly passed individual individual in in- flags of our nation to the guests and 22 residents at atthe atthe atthe the center while Utah State Stale Representative Glade M M. and Mrs So wards sang a lovely arrangement of God Bless America accompanied accompanied ac ac- ac companied by Mary Shaefer Shaefer- meyer While the song was sung one suddenly realized the Representative and Elizabeth were not not singing just a duet but indeed were reverently being joined in this song of love by voices of the past each ach resident in his own way related through song their wish and desire that God Bless America Representative asked all to join and voices rose in jubilation through the last chorus REPRESENTATIVE TIVE spoke of his love and memory of the residents resident he had Kad ad personally known through ds s life for his knowledge and lov love of our flag the hardships suffered before it was was was' made and since Great names names' of the past were brought to mind as he related its making the cause and the triumph He related the story of the Hornet and its its heroic crew and how loving one another was the desire of all citizens who helped and are are helping in keeping the colors clean and holding its honor high In essence be not afraid to th wave the flag of the United States of America for faith holds it above all others and love binds it together it is ever guarded by God indivisible under whose watchful care we as a nation are guided The Thea a ray Y Lords Prayer was said in unison lead by the Cub Scout and all troops were dismissed with a proud spirit abiding in the hearts of each united we stand we love you America and that for which you stand one onena na nation tion under God f c |
