Show Tourist Brochure On Highway U 44 Shows Formations A new tourist brochure Drive Through the Ages published by the Bureau of Land Management and Forest Service was shown to Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce members by Odell Frandsen Frand- Frand sen I supervisor at the directors meeting Tuesday THE NEW brochure gives locations of 20 interpretative signs along a 30 mile route on state highway 44 s starting arting at atthe atthe atthe the Dam and ending 15 miles south of Flaming Gorge Dam The signs give the geological formation exposed in each designated area explained Mr F Frandsen n The formations begin at Vernal with the Mancos listed at 80 million years old and progress through 16 other fo formations for for- formations ending up with the Uintah Group in the Precambrian period estimated at one billion years old All of the signs will be in place ny y the Memorial Day weekend holiday stat stat- Continued on page 8 Tourist Brochure Continued from page 1 cd ed Mr Frandsen ALSO AT the Chamber directors meeting Ashel J J.
