A Whitney He lie was the eighth child of a family of 13 February 7 1942 he married Thelma Massey MasslY He lie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints and a carpenter carpenter car car- penter by trade A veteran of oC World War II H he served served ser ser- ved honorably for four years receiving his honorable discharge from the service service ser ser- vice December 12 1945 While serving with the Amphibious Battalion Mr Whitney received the following decorations decorations de de- and citations American Theater Theater Thea Thea- ter of Operations Service Ribbon Asiatic Pacific Theater Service Ribbon Good Conduct Medal AR es and the Victory Medal Modal SURVIVORS include his wife Thclma Thelma Thel- Thel ma stepson Philip Harrison Vernal brothers Lovell Lavon Lavan both Salt Lake City Glen Provo Ray DelMar both Sprin Springville Laurence California sister sister sister sis sis- ter Mozell Braithwaite Ogden four grandchildren Terl Teri Cindy Kathy and Jennifer Harrison all of Vernal Bishop E. A Mas Has sey Grant Southam read the obituary and gave praise for Mr Whitneys Whitney's beautiful beautiful beau beau- yards and gardening abilities PRESIDENT AND Mrs Glade Sow Sow- ards sang Beyond the Sunset with Mrs Warren Richardson narrating the words Warren Richardson gave remarks honoring Mr Whitney Faith Unlocks the Door was sung by Lois Erickson and Marva Lent The concluding speaker speak speak- er was Gene Jones President and Mrs sang Perfect Day Wilford Adams gave the benediction Patricia Jensen played the prelude and postlude and accompanied the musical numbers Pallbearers were Lovell Glen Lavon Ray and DelMar Whitney brothers brothers brothers bro bro- and his stepson Philip Harrison Valda D.
