Show Deadline Nears for Winter Quarter Some interesting and unusual classes both credit and are scheduled scheduled to be offered winter quarter by bythe bythe bythe the Uintah Basin Education Center Registration Registration Registration Re Re- for the upcoming coming quarter is planned December 18 in Vernal from 5 to 8 pm p.m. December 19 in Roosevelt from 5 to 8 pm p.m. and December 20 in Duchesne from 5 to 6 pm p.m. All registration registration registration regis regis- will be conducted in local Extension offices SOME registration bulletins which include a complete class list were mailed mail mail- mailed ed elf this week to residents of the Basin People who did not receive a schedule by mail should contact one of the offices listed below Among the interesting credit courses offered are arc PE Skiing PE Outdoor Survival and Recreation and Art Essentials in Interior Design The skiing course will run for five weeks and will be held on weekends in Park City The philosophy of both domestic and public interior design with special on these principals as they apply to home planning and furnishing will constitute the art course According to Art Jones instructor of the outdoor survival and recreation class the course is designed through lecture and field trips to teach students ways to live in the wilderness under adverse conditions and how to participate in and enjoy outdoor winter sports Each student will be responsible for his own warm clothing he emphasized CLASSES include courses in investment kar karate te sp speed ed reading gun building guitar techniques and taxidermy A special demonstration of the speed reading class will be pr presented presented pre pre- in Vernal during the December 18 registration period In the gun building building build build- ing course each student will be able to build his own flintlock musket Further information including beginning begin ning dates and prices is available from froma a local Extension office in Duchesne 2294 in Roosevelt and in Vernal a INU |
