Show Mental Health Group Visits Vernal Area The Central utah Mental Health Cent Center r 37 parents and 19 staff members enjoyed a five day trip in the Vernal area recently This was due to the cooperative efforts and gen of some of the Vernal citizens civic groups business es and government agencies to Vernal Vernal the group stopped at Neola and at at- at attended tended the Sun Dance as guests of the ute Trib Tribe and Mr I Washington The tour then went to Vernal City Park for lunch and on to Grizzly Ridge Ski Area and Lodge where they stayed as guests of La- La LaRell La Rell Anderson and his family The campers enjoyed hiking horseback riding playing cards and and watching Matt of My Myton ton spit bar a whole mutt mutton n The mut ton and horses were furnished by the Sheep Com Com- Company pany Following the barbecue supper they enjoyed an In In- In Indian dian campfire program RANGER TOM Sevy spoke to the group on forests and B H and Jim Nick told stories about the early days of Vernal Games songs and lounging were enjoyed amid rainy weather during the third day of camp That evening a fire fire- fireplace place program was led by Dick Bolton a staff member who is isan isan an old THE GROUP visited the points of interest around Flam Flam- Flaming ing Gorge and enjoyed a boat tour of the dam and under tinder the Cart creek bridge under the direction of Ranger Dick Benjamin A picnic was held at Little Hole Fishing and head arrow hunting climaxed the fourth day of fun The last morning was spent at Dinosaur National Monument Vernal City PArk and the Field Field- Fieldhouse house of Natural History Also assisting with the trip were the Vernal Jaycees Kiwanis Club Mayor Alvin Kay and Al Heggen of the Utah Fish and Game Department The tour was directed by Ned |
