Show ELM Notes Good Winter Grazing I Recent use checks of Bureau of Land Management winter ranges indicate there was ade adequate quate forage to cover last winters winter's grazing needs in the Vernal area Odell A Frand Frand- Frandsen sen Vernal District Manager pointed out that intensive util- util utilization utilization studies are made at the end of each period of grazing use to assure that the forage resource is being properly used RECENT cold unseasonable weather has caused some difficulties to the local livestock in Many users have requested and received exten exten- extensions to remain on the desert ranges as it has been sible to get to the higher moun moun- mountain tain areas Diamond Moun Moun- Mountain tain for many years a favorite lambing area has only recently been accessible Because or of the recent stormy weather many steep shep outfits started lambing on the livestock trails While storms have created some problems they have also virtually assured good forage production this year |
