| Show a r t S 'S 9 r AN OPEN HOUSE will honor Mr and Mrs Calvin Jar Jor- Jorge ge gensen sen of Leota for their Golden Wedding Anniversary May 18 Leota Couple Eyes Golden Anniversary Date Dale Nr M r and Mrs Calvin Jorgen soh sen will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary May 18 at their home in Leota at an open house from to pm A PROGRAM and dancing will follow the open house from to 1000 pm in the old Avalon Ayalon Chapel Calvin and Leona Lt ona Jorgensen were married May 14 1918 in Jensen at the home of the brides bride's parents Mr and Mrs John T The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple July 16 1919 THE FIRST seven years of their marriage was spent in Jensen They moved to Leota March of 1925 where they have spent the past 43 years They lived on the home stead 10 years until caused them to move to the river bottoms The They were flooded out by the Green River In 1947 THE COUPLE has lived 17 years at the the present h home me which is eight miles north of Ouray near Pelican Lake They operated a store there Mr and Mrs Jorgensen are parents of eight children seven of whom are still living They are arc Mrs Don Calva Van Dyke Lewiston Mrs Ro bert Norma Marshall Leota Kent Grand Junction Grant San Jose California Mrs Ron Ron- Ronald aId ald Lela Searle Hotchkiss Colorado Leo Vernal Mrs Reed Nina Tolton Salt Lake City and Karl deceased THEY HAVE 31 living grand grand- grandchildren children and six great grand children They have been act lye ive in Church organ organ- Mr Hr Jorgensen was bishop of Avalon Ward for years and was also a counsel counsel- counselor or in the bishopric Mr Jorgensen retired De- De December December cember of 1966 from the Bureau of Land Manage Manage- Management Management ment where he worked for 25 years I The couple asks that no i gifts be presented at the open house |
