Show Randlett Y Youth Home from Peace Corps Ronald ev Durl son of Mr and Harold Dudley of Randlett has been cn at at the hom of his hh parents for a period of often often ten days prior to reporting to in PC DC where he will trAin for further work with the theoffice office of If th the P Peace ae Corns Ronald has b been serving as a Peace Corps Corp since of M 14 After sue completing two years of service he applied for and was granted a one year one year exten exten- extension slon sion which he completed on Jul July 28 1967 BEFORE leaving the United states th the first time Mr Dud Icy ley completed a week 10 Agri cultural Training Program at Montana State ColIe College o Here he also was thoroughly Instruct instruct- instructed ed In Spanish the lan language ua e of Ecuador where his service was to be His country in-country training consisted of a month spent In Old Mexico where use of the language was was stressed further Upon arrival in Ecuador he was assigned to Plan Piloto an hour and a half from Santo Domingo de los Colorados Pin Pin- Pinchincha chincha During his first two years of service Ronald developed with the assistance of the lIe if er Project Inc a sizeable cat tie tle project in the Santo Domingo area directed toward developing quality cattle herds by the Introduction of purebred Santa Gertrudis and Brahman stock During his third year he continued working with these projects and was the leader In developing a cattle reproduction ion center in which registered Brahman cattle will wiH be pro pro- produced and distributed to the local farmers with supervision hopIng to increase and Improve their cattle production SINCE JULY of last year when his volunteer service end end- ended ed cd he has worked with the Ecuadorian Agricultural Asso- Asso Association and other volunteers continuing the work of these centers which has Increased rapidly His relations with the Ecuadorian people have been so successful that as a tribute to the work work-he has done through through- throughout throughout out the area the recipients of cattle were asked to help choose a name for the center and all voted that it be called Rancho Ronald Mr Dudleys Dudley's new work will follow the same type of service as he has been appointed to the position of Associate Peace Corps Director in Panama for fora fora a period of three years follow Ing the training and Initial or or- or In Washington DC |
