Show Services Honor HOllor Ex Resident Funeral services were held November 1 for Albert Alvin Hardy 87 a former Vernal reo re- resident and retired U S Forest ranger who died October 29 In Ina ina a Sequoia Calif hospital from froma a heart ailment Mr and Mrs Bert Carroll from Craig attended the funeral FOLLOWING his retirement from the United States Forest Service Mr Hardy went to the Redwood City Calif area in 1942 with his wife Clara who died in May 1964 Mr Hardy was born in Davis Hollow on Brush Creek Creck moun moun- mountain tain April 17 1878 a son of Jos Jos- Jos Joseph eph and Lydia Rebecca Davis Hardy HE WAS A graduate of the agricultural college at Logan now part of the Utah State Uni Uni- Uni University lie He was an active horti and worked with the forest service for 40 years in Utah and Wyoming During the he had an active role in the Civilian Con Con- Conservation Corps which utilized many unemployed youths in reo re- reforestation forestation arid and land reclamation projects He received many commendations for his service with the Also a prominent sportsman Mr Hardy held the utah State Sportsmans Sportsman's Award and had won many awards for his marks marks- marksmanship manship Survivors include two daught daught- daughters ers and one son Mrs Billy Wilda Brimhall Brimhall New Mexico Mrs Alberta Kay Redwood City Calif Glendon D Mt View Calif two brothers Joseph Reno Nevada Charles Vernal two sisters Mrs Pard Ruby Dodds Lancaster Calif and Marie Porter of Selby Montana and five grandchildren Interment was in Palo Alto Calif |
