| Show Basic Fishing Laws Listed utah's general angling season opens Saturday May 29 and it i t continues through November 30 Fishing hours are from 4 am to 9 pm Some of the major angling anglin g rules were listed by the De Dc of Fish and Game with the reminder that officers officer s will be patrolling all waters to t assist anglers and to apprehend d violators of rules governing this s sport All residents 12 years of age a g gor or older must possess and d t i splay s play visibly on an outer garment gar I ment a proper license whenever angling No one may use another er persons person's license ANGLING is defined as fish fishing ing with a single line attached d to a rod pole or h he heIn ld in the hands of or attended b y the person angling and having havin attached thereto any legal baits bait s or lures Angling is permitted with any an y bait except game fish or parts thereof and live fish The eggs of all fish species are permitted for bait Angling Is permitted with any mechanical lure except no lure shall have more than three gangs of hooks and no line shall have attached thereto more than two baited hooks or i a 1 flies Multiple prongs attached to a single shaft is defined as one hook ATTENDED means that an a n angler must be within 10 fee f e e t of the equipment being used atall at atall all times Bag and possession limits for tr trout Is 10 fish or seven pounds and one fish except Bear Lake and Lake Powell whichever is caught first Resident children childre n under 12 years of age may take only four fish or three pounds pound s and one fish whichever is i s caught first Nonresident child child- children ren under 12 must fish with a li li- li licensed censed angler and the fish they catch must be counted in n the ll 11 mit of the licensed angler Weight limits of fish will be b computed with the fish dressed and the heads and tails Intact There is no size limit on any a n y fish species that may be taken |
