Show r FORUM A COUNTY NEED from all indications the pi besent governmental plans to control production or of basic agricultural ri ii commodities already it a two year program has been outlined which affects wheat corn com hogs and dairy wever never before has haa there been such urgent need for a 0 county agricultural agent as at present the government has haa made available funds tor for the paying of the salary of such a representative for uintah county an agent would be appointed within a tew few days it if uintah county saw fit to make a small appropriation to pay the and office expense ot of such agent this information has come from the office of director william peterson of the utah state extension service and maraer T of the agricultural adjustment administration for utah nom the standpoint of enterprising farmers and citizens of the uintah basin it seems that a golden opportunity Is being passed by in the failure to make sufficient appropriations for the appointment of a county agent here in sevier county alone the county agent by keeping re records saved the farmers on their wheat contracts of that dJ district strict more than enough to pay appropriations for two years this Is also true in joab county I 1 another element has en entered teed in the benefit payment plan of the AAA which indicates that no farmer who does not comply with the program by signing conti contracts acts to fro the production of basic commodities modi ties will be considered tor for a loan by the farm credit aamir administration governmental officials expect each county to do its share bhare in this reconstruction reconstruct lon pr program and the counties which fall fail to make appropriations fox for the hiring of governmental agents ill no doubt suffer in not receiving their ful financial ald aid from the united states treasury A THEOD OnH JOHNSON i |
