Show 14 applications heard for jr r high Prin principal cipa I 1 fourteen applicants for the position of principal of athley ashley valley valloy junior 11 high me school were considered by the uintah district board of education meeting in regular session tuesday junior and senior high will be separated upon completion of the neah new high P h school the B board ard selected four of the applicants who will be asked to meet with them at a special meeting on january 28 29 at which time it Is anticipated that one of the tour four will be elected to the office in other business before the meeting the board gave ap approval ro for supt bupt max G abboth abbati t to attend the american association of school administrators convention which will be held in denver on march 10 through 12 floyd E workman supervisor of transportation for the district met with the board and discus ed the difficulties being encountered in attempting to operate a number of buses which are from fifteen to twenty years old after a great deal of discussion the baard decided to c call all for bids on three new bases buses with the bids to be 0 opened en at the next regular meeting since the law requires mt that the board appoint a clerk and treasurer every two years the board re appointed ernest M johnson for the period 1955 t to 1957 at the same time they gave a vote of conf confidence idenie to supt bupt abbott whose contract terminates june 1 1855 1955 glen F ovard high school principal at uintah met with the board to explain the work which is being done clone in furniture and equipment needed for or the new uintah high school no definite action was taken pending an investigation of estimated prices on this equipment glen oaks clerk of the works at the new school reported that progress had d been slowed considerably sider side ably due to the cold weather but he e anticipated that work will pickup again within thirty days in in order that the building may be completed by july 1 it was also reported mat vor nal city and uintah county are working together ln in building the road from main street to the new school |
