Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Grant were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Anderson and children of American Fork. Master Mas-ter Eddie Anderson returned home with his parents after a I week's visit with his grandpar- j ents. ! Hugh J. Grant, 54, of Midvale, who passed away Thursday, June i 10, at 10:30 p.m. in a Spokane, Wash., hospital of natural causes ; was a brother to Edward Grant of Copperton. A son of John William Wil-liam and Catherine Fraser Grant he was born Dec. G, 1899, in Bingham. He was married to Clara Harriette Burkman in 1919 in Bingham. Funeral services were held Tuesday noon in the Midvale Methodist church with Miss Ada Duhigg of the Highland Boy Community House officiating. officiat-ing. Burial was at Mt. Olivet cemetery. ce-metery. Mrs. Norrene Smernoff entertained enter-tained the Entre Nous club at a delightful patio party at her home Wednesday evening, June 16. Prizes at bridge were won by Mrs. Clara Sybrowsky, Mrs. Max ine Carter and Mrs. Maxie Johnson. John-son. Others present were Mrs. Emily Ablett, Mrs. Maxine Gay-thwaite, Gay-thwaite, Mrs. Olive Prigmore, Mrs. Pat Peterson and Mrs. Letha Ham. Lovely refreshments were served. On Sunday, June 13, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Homer McDonnell Mc-Donnell of Salt Lake City, a delightful de-lightful birthday party was held in their patio honoring little Miss Carla Ann Buskness of Tacoma, Wash., who was celebrating her first birthday. Besides the honor guest others present were Mrs. Eileen Buskness, Mr. and Mrs. McDonnell and daughter Karen, Mrs. Jennie Erickson, Mrs. Hannah Han-nah Smith, Mrs. Maxie Johnson j and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Renning and children, Tommy and Robin. A beautiful merry-go-round birth day cake with one candle centered center-ed the table. Carla received many nice gifts. Mrs. Ben McAllister and her cousin, Mrs. Elmer Johnson of Salt Lake Citv were cohostesses ! Calif., Mrs. Horace Cutler of Holladay, and Mrs. McAllister's mother, Mrs. May S. Arnold of Granger. The four ladies are sisters sis-ters and this was the first time they have enjoyed a visit all together to-gether in 25 years. Mr. and Mrs. Ben McAllister entertained recently in honor of Mrs. McAllister's aunt and mother, mo-ther, Mrs. Esther Cramer and Mrs. May S. Arnold. Mrs. Monte Jones and Denny were overnight guests at the Ray Cowdell home Saturday. Sunday Mrs. Ray Cowdell and Mrs. Monte Jones and Denny visited vis-ited in Riverton with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cowdell. Mrs. Bob Cowdell is confined to her home with rheumatic fever. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Griggs and daughter of Midvale were Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Armitstead and family. Mr. and Mrs. David O. Stoker at a lovely luncheon last week at the Johnson home honoring their three aunts, Mrs. Josephine Semines of Sacramento, Calif., Mrs. Esther Cramer of Hermosa, ana ennaren, ynn ana tusie, spent two days in Logan with Mr. and Mrs. John Christensen and Joline. Week end visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Cheever were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rager of Las Vegas, Ve-gas, Nev. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Cheever entertained at a family dinner at their home Sunday.
