Show utah public health to establish health camp cp for sickly children outdoor camp for malnourished and underprivileged children will ill be conducted this summer at the utah outdoor cam camp p in big cottonwood canyon by the utah pubic health association it was announced friday by mrs kuth ruth ward mumford health education director for the association th camp Is planned to start on july 9 and continue for six weeks seeks it Is to be operated at a means of health 1 education and disease prevention ac u I 1 cording a to mrs mumford although no children with ith any kind of communicable disease will sill be admitted the activities of the camp will be under the supervision of expert medical directors and a recreation leader the state board of health aill co sperate by furnishing the necessary medical sup anwon and sanitary inspection spec tion tie he site Is 13 about four miles down don the canyon from brighton and was made available through the courtesy of the united states forest service and the utah outdoor association there will sill be ample shade a pure water ater supply playground swimming pool plenty of fresh air and nd and nd in fact everything desirable for a health camp mrs mumford said the purposes of the camp as set forth by mrs mumford are prevent tuberculosis in children who have been exposed to infection or are apparently predisposed to the disease to decrease it if possible the susceptibility to later tuberculosis infection to increase resistance to other diseases to improve health habits among the children who ho attend camp and by example among other children to educate the public in the danders dangers ot of tuberculosis and in the necessity of taking measure to prevent it especially among children A special committee to arrange the
