Show ANOTHER PETITION saloon element of dragon fighting the people who asked county commissioners to withhold licenses naturally th the saloon keepers of dragon are opposed to the idea of being put out of business buEi nesa and this week a petition was presented to the county commissioners asking that henry lee be permitted to conduct his business in the future as in the past according to law this petition was signed by more than seventy people last week a petition was presented ted to the commissioners asking that tho the licenses of the proprietors of the two saloons be revoked or rather that the commissioners refuse to grant Itee licenses nass in the future that paper was signed by fifty seven heads of families the petitioners petition onora ers called attention to the fact that gambling is being carried on in dragon contrary to the law the names of a number of the signers of the first petition appeared on the one asking that henry lee be permitted to continue his bu when the county commissioners take the matter up for consideration the nimes that appear on both petitions will vill not have much weight and not the tha petition favoring lee lea is as follows the undersigned undersigner under signed respectfully represent that they are residents of ef dragon uintah county utah and that they are acquainted wit with henry hHenry lee lea liquor dealer at dragon utah that th elsaid henry lee has ha conducted a saloon and liquor business at said point for a period of three years that during the time the said henry lee has conducted the said business he has at all times kept an orderly and well regulated business house free roe from fighting and other disturbances and that the same is 10 and has been and is now a model place of business so ao far as law and good order are concerned that a petition has been prepared and circulated asking your honorable body to revoke the license of the said lee and to refuse to grant to him further license to conduct the said business that the petition last named states a condition not warranted by the past conduct of mr la los and is misleading as to the facts therefore petitioners petition ers respectfully ask ak that the said henry lee be permitted and lice licked nied to conduct his said business as in the past in accordance with law and order and the regulations governing such classes of business another petition from the norvell mine asking that lee be permitted to continue his business is signed by hyrum oscar glenn chas chaa ainge J H ainge J H cook mark cook caleb haws fuller remington leslie goodrich the petition from dragon in favo lee is signed by number of women the county commissioners have tak k the matter under advisement and b fore they act they will make thorough thoro UZ investigation the licenses of the saloon keepers were issued only a few days agov ago just prior to the meeting of the commissioners andare and are to extend for a period of three months montha unless revoked the law allows the commissioners to revoke saloon licenses on three days daya notice for good cause |
