Show to tile the people of the dry gulch irrigation companas Comp anys territory the great majority of the homesteaders on the uintah tilde of the dry gulch have become a part if f the company and about half of those upon the lake lak fork side aide to the homesteaders who organized orga nixed this tha company for a united effort to secure the water rights and the water it has been very unfair on the part of those who stood out and they have been a stumbling block find and bin hindrance drance to the progress and development of tho the whole region as well as to themselves had all a joined in at once with a union of effort many ditches could have been constructed and with mith much less leas expense than we have been able to have up to date many have looked on merely as though the efforts of the homesteaders who organized themselves into the dry gulch irrigation company were of no more consequence nor interest to them than their fencing or building houses and in stead of joining in n and helping to bring water to the lands at an early date have done nothing but criticism criticise critic ise lse and find fault fabj and try to defeat the purposes of the progressive silve element who wanted water us its soon boon tie aa possible to get it they seem to oppose the 01 gamt atlon as ai though it were it opposed to their interests in some way but thanks to the many supporters among the progressive ive people who have stood nobly together in the effort to secure water the company is now on a sound basis basil and will next 5 ear have wat water cr for its members even without t the h e assistance si of the laggards laz gards the coni company pany is made up of parts and each stockholder is a part and they are the homesteaders the officers of the company are only servants ser vanLis of the homesteaders ste aders and are trying to perform that which la Is the wish of the people who are stockholders if you wish a voice in its m ill ini iger gement nent and it a part of its profits join in an I 1 help do your part this company is for you vou t ta pa a well as aa alt all the longer you wait the more expensive you make it and the more cash and less work wora you will be able to put in when you do join besides making the costs of construction more next year 1907 this company will bring water to its stockholders who are of record this year up to october and it will not attempt to give or promise water for 1907 to those who join after october let 1904 so you should secure your stock and assist in a united effort to iret the water now join at once and let the people understand what and whom chont it can depend upon and let us ua be able to make our calculations accordingly if we knew that we had the support of 50 people we can plan more successfully than we can to A AMOU of and hope for the support and assistance of the remainder if behave we have bet tiers to count upon we will plan to furnish with water and can do it but not with the support of one halt half of that number if you ever expect to become a part park of the company do so now for with a large membership it can administer its affairs much more economically and construct its ditches much more ceappy than by stringing this matter out indefinitely the company will construct its ditches of a ste size to accommodate its member ship consequently those coming in late will be for because the ditches will not be of ft a size gize sufficient to carry enough water for all with new members for this rule was adopted at the board meeting august 1906 thus you see bee the necessity of identifying yourself unto the company at once fh order to secure 1907 1901 water be a builder up not a down don bonu t be a A join in and help tf if anything is done that dont meet with dour our approval be decent enough to go to the board direct and explain your position the board is trying to meet the wants of the majority and the majority is about right everywhere and all the tinie time help the board they need your help they are your servants trying to accomplish great things for you the question of letting contracts and levying cash assessments assessment ti to pay for them has been agitated but the question arises how bow can we collect coah cash to pay for contracts when Ns we e have so BO much difficulty as it is in securing either cash cach or labor on our ditches under our present system our present management stands stand ready to adopt any better or more feasible plan than our present one when convinced of its practicability remember that even though our completed system should appear to cost us by constructing it ourselves nalen vlene me pet get through we will own it in per simple and will have no bonded interest hearing bearing indebtedness hanging over us which would tax ta us for years to free ourselves from and thus in the end c ost cost us much more than what appears at first thought we unquestionably have the most economical sa system stem completed dinall in all utah or the west much of our batet we estimate will cost us but little more than per share for water much of it more but all of tt it far less than first estimates showed if you stand out and attempt to secure a private water right you have to take a secondary daiy or later right which in this area must prove to be very unsatisfactory in many times of shortage and will depreciate the value of your lands which you will find if you ever try to sell them the territory on the uintah ustah side has been divided into areas as follows the lands under the uintah canal to the west are classed a as one area and called uintah canal area the canals unda r the middle or no 1 canal are divided into 3 areas and named is follows roosevelt lateral on the west harding lateral on tho the east and white rocks bench on the north on that part of the land on the bench proper the lands to the east and under the bench canal are called uintah indian bench canal area the lands on the meridian in I 1 south la is named the silka ditch area the lake fork and other territory v m ill be divided into areas in a similar manner so that as near as possible perfect justice shall be given to all sections and to all men the company has arranged to purchase hage a large prader to put upon the ditch and lateral construction which will save its cost many times over with it we hope to save much money and its use shall be divided among the vanoss areas beginning with the lake for fork area be encouraged every das work put upon our systems canals adds dollars to the aze value of our companas comp anys assets which is already worth many thousands of dollars come join us at once and claim a part of this value for 5 our own very respectfully J M RosE BRRY secretary dry
