Show DAVE WERRETf SERVICES TODAY Funeral services for David Werrett, 81, one of the oldest residents of Bingham Canyon, having lived here 63 years, who died Monday, November 10th at 11:07 p.m. in a Salt Lake hospital hos-pital from injuries received in an accidental fall on a Bingham main street, will be conducted today, Friday, at 1 p.m. in the Bingham Mortuary chapel with Bishop Wilford II. Harris officiating. offic-iating. John J. Creedon will be speaker speak-er and musical numbers will be provided by Phoebe Siddoway and Mary Raby. Friends may call Friday, today, to-day, from 9 a.m. to time of services. ser-vices. Interment will be in West Jordan Cemetery under direction of Bingham Mortuary. Mr. Werrett was born October 3, 1871, in Wales, a son of Thomas and Margaret Williams Werrett. He was a retired teamster. He left Wales in October 1873, and came to Utah. He lived for a year in Herriman and then moved to Midvale. He came to Bingham when he was 18 and had resided here since. Mr. Werrett drove a team for Tom Mayne, Standish and Gimson and George E. Chandler. He was last employed by the city of Bingham until his retirement retire-ment six years ago. He was noted for his honesty and for being a hard worker. He was also a great lover of horses and was never known to whip his horses but would fight anyone he saw beating beat-ing a horse. In recent years when he spent a great deal of time sitting on the Bingham Merc, porch steps, he endeared himself to young children by giving them pennies to put in the gum machine. mach-ine. His familial figure will be missed. Mr. Werrett is survived by a sister, Mrs. Margaret W. Jones of Salt Lake City. |
