Turner said that the Maeser water board hasn't completely decided whether to have Ashley Springs water treated in the treatment plant proposed by the Central Utah Water Conservancy-District Conservancy-District at Doc's Beach or to side with the treatment plant proposed by the Ashley-Valley Ashley-Valley Water and Sewer Improvement District in the mouth of Ashley Canyon. Maeser will participate with Ashley Valley in the construction of the Loop Line from Chocolate Rock Tank to the Maeser Water Tank. Turner said that nearly every road in the Maeser Water Improvement District, except 1500 North, would be affected af-fected by upgrading of the w ater system this summer. "There w ill be some inconvenience, but if the people w ill bear with us, w e will have a really fine system for a lot of years to come," Turner said. Reid Johnson. Valley Engineering, retained re-tained by the Maeser district, said the water line contracts require that road base be replaced and compacted to 95 percent of standard. "What we w ill have is a 3-foot patch of smooth road and the rest bumpy," Johnson said. The contractor will be required to leave essential access roads open to traffic, traf-fic, "but traffic , will be shut off at crossroads." Turner said.
