Mari and Michelle Green will compete com-pete in the 400 meter run in the state meet, Friday and Saturday at Weber State College. Valora, shot put and Drollinger, long jump, will also compete com-pete in the state meet as well as both of the girl relay team. "The girls should do well at the state meet. They are tough in the 400 meter dash. The two Green girls should place high," state Uintah track coach, Gil Limb. "We don't have a lot of speed like the other schools have, but we make it up with determination. We have eleven girls on the Uintah track team and six are going to the state meet." Timpview captured first place in the boys' division in the Region 7 Meet with 131 points and Mountain View snared second place at 124 counters Provo captured third place at 95 points and American Fork placed fourth at 56 counters. Orem placed fifth at 55 counters and Pleasant Grove nabbed sixth at 48 counters. Uintah garnered seventh place at 17 points. Provo pocketed top honors in the girls' division at 113 counters and Orem snared second at 107'i counters. Mountain View placed third at 98 points and American Fork placed fourth at 60 points. Timpview picked up fifth place honors at 52'i counters and Uintah snared sixth at 34 counters. Pleasant Grove placed seventh at 18 counters. John Ford of Provo placed first in-the in-the pole vault at 13 feet and Sean Gunter, American Fork, placed second se-cond at 12' 4". Steve Smith, Mountain View and Vaughan Gourdin, Timpview, Timp-view, tied for third place at 12 feet. Paul Cardon, Orem, nabbed fifth at 10' 6" and Troy Morris, American Fork, placed fourth in the region meet. Another Ute in the picture is Billy Golding. Craig Pinegar of Timpview nabbed third at 140' 84" and Trior Christiansen, Timpview, bagged fourth place at 134' 8" and Brook Haws, Provo, placed sixth at 131" 3". Dale Cranney of Mountain View won the high jump with a leap of 6' 2" and Chris Cannon placed second at 6' 2". Ford of Provo placed third at 6 feet and James Long, nabbed, fourth. Dave Vincent, Mountain View, placed fifth. Other boys' results were unavailable at press time. Lanise Porter of Provo snared first place in the girls' 1600 meter run at 5:28 and Julie LaFranca, Provo, snared second at 5:29.3. Jill Fulton, i Mountain View, nabbed first place in the 100 meter dash at 12.80 and Carol Smith, American Fork, placed second at 12.83. Kendall Tuckett, Timpview, bagged first place in the shot put at 37 feet and Lori Partridge, Orem, nabbed nabb-ed second at 32' lOV. American Fork nabbed first place in the 400 meter relay at 51.52 and Timpview placed second se-cond at 53.67. Lisa Shields, Timpview, nabbed first place in the long jump at 16' 2V and Jill Fulton, Mountain View, snared second at 15' 10V. Kristen Thompson, Provo, placed first in the javelin at 125' 9 V and Anderson, Ander-son, Orem, placed second at 113' 9V. Porter of Provo won the 800 meter run at 2 : 26.49 and Bennion, Provo, placed second at 2 : 30.25. Susan James, Orem, nabbed first in the discus at 110' V and Lori Partridge, Orem, netted second at 106'4". Provo Pro-vo won the medley relay with a time of 4:30.84 and Orem placed first in the 3200 at 12:15.67 and Hughes, Timpview, Timp-view, nabbed second at 12:20.55.
