Area talents perform for fund Uintah Basin performers are making final preparations for Saturday's July 10, talent show to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. , Salt Lake City television anchor man, Dick Nourse, will arrive in Vernal by helicopter to open the event. Nourse recently fought a personal battle'iwith cancer and was successful in being cured. This event is one of several which Nourse will participate in to raise funds in Utah. Saturday's event will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Vernal Junior High School auditorium. Over 15 local talents will perform at the event. Performers include Julie Gardiner, Ranee Searle, Dennis Holmes, Lisa i Partridge, Denise Angelo, Julie and Reed Hansen, Kirsten Hanchett, Joy Remmington, Sherry Daniel, A Roosevelt drill team, and Leslie Hanchett. The evening will conclude with two films produced by Wally Goddard, "Grave Expectations" and "Bananas and Milk." Single and family tickets are available at Mr. S., Spotlite Fashion, The Pro Shop and Candlelight Bookstore.
