Show Final EIS released on Rangely dam The Sacramento District, Corps of Engineers, has released a final EIS on the Taylor Draw Reservoir Project near Rangely, Colorado. The document identifies the impacts associated with the constructon of the reservoir and it's alternatives, and responds to comments received on draft EIS. The proposed reservoir would have a storage capacity of 13,800 acre-feet and would be located on the White River about 5 miles upstream from the town of Rangley. This EIS was prepared as part of the Corps of Engineers pertnit process under section 404 of the Clean Water Act (33 USC 1344). The Sacramento District issued a public notice (no. 7277) describing the reservoir project proposed by the Water Users Association No. 1, a subdistrict of the Colorado River Water Conservation District. Based on comments received, it was determined that an EIS was required and a scoping notice was issued. A notice of intent to prepare a draft EIS was published in the Federal Register and the draft EIS was made available to the public. Written comments on the Final EIS received will be considered in the decision making process. Written comments should be sent to the Regulatory Section of the Corps of Engineers. ' -" t |
