Union's Chad Richard and Wayne Gingell tossed in free throws to cut Uintah's Uin-tah's lead to 21 points, but the Utes acquired ac-quired a 28 point advantage due to a seven point explosion, which consisted of a three point play by Neldon Seitz and field goals by Paul Nelson and Hamilton. Seitz gained his field goal when he rebounded his own missed free throw and put the ball through the hoop for two points. Seitz was fouled on the field goal and put in a free throw. Richard and Mike Ross scored three points for the Utes, but Clark Emery gained the rebound on his own missed shot and fired it in the hoop for a Uintah field goal. Uintah acquired a 32 point lead on a five point eruption. The basketball was tossed into backcourt. Ross moved slowly toward the ball and was passed up in the battle for the basketball by Uintah's Seitz, who nabbed the ball. Seitz missed a layup, but was fouled and put in one out of two free throws. Bowen and Nelson popped in field goals. Nelson added two free throws and Hamilton, who was all alone at the basket, put in a field goal with one second se-cond left to make the final score: Uintah, Uin-tah, 76 and Union, 42.
