Show Reward offered for information on F.G. fish sign Few costs of government seem more unnecessary and senseless than the manv dollars spent each year to repair or replace items damaged or stolen on National Forest Lands, according to Flaming Gorge Recreation Area officials. of-ficials. One example is a 2 by 6 foot aluminum "permaloy" sign which was taken over a year ago from the Cedar Springs Overlook at Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area. The sign was recently replaced at a cost of just over $1,000. This did not include the labor for installation. This represents an unnecessary cost to taxpayers which could be avoided, and is a case of the many being put upon by the few. Individuals may help reduce these expenses by reporting any suspicious activity in the national forests. Such reports should be made to the nearest national forest or sheriff's office. In the case mentioned above, a $100 reward is being offered by the Flaming Gorge Recreation Area, Ashley National Forest, for information leading to the recovery of the sign and conviction of those responsible for its theft. The sign is bronze and anodized aluminum with main images in gold. The spots on the fish are red. |
