Show Ballard Telintha Rasmussen Phone 722-4875 Ballard LDS church to enlarge chapel As the population in Ballard grows, there is a need for a larger Ballard LDS chapel. Plans are being made to enlarge the building. The new part of the church house will be built on the east side. ' Mr. and Mrs. William H. Arnold and son Bob motored to Denver, Colo., to attend the funeral of Mrs. Arnold's brother, Jack Ralph Averett who died Thursday, Nov. 12. Lynn M. Betts, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest E. Betts Jr. and Karen Palmer Chapman, daughter of Carl and Ellen Palmer, Vernal will be married next Friday nov. 28 in the Provo LDS Temple. An open house will be held the same evening in the Lapoint ward LDS church. Relatives and friends are invited in-vited to attend the open house. These young people will make their home in Vernal. Mr. and Mrs. Wade Parrish and family have been living in Logan and have now moved back to Ballard. They are living in the Bill Parrish home. Bill and Vione have moved into their, new home south of their old home. Elvin and Marine kettle and family spent the weekend in Salt Lake City with Marline's mother, where they had a family get together and celebrated with an early Thanksgiving dinner. Cleo Womack was operated on last week at the Duchesne County Hospital. She is now at home. Dennis Toyland's wife is still in a Salt Lake hospital. Mr. Toyland has been with her. She is improving. Frank McClure is still in the Uintah County Hospital. In a few days he will be taken to a Salt Lake rest home to stay until the old hospital in Vernal will be converted into a rest home. It is now in the process. Karl Shisler was in Salt Lake last Thursday and Friday attending a state school board meeting. Ellen Rasmussen was in Salt Lake City last week to see her eye doctor. Sometime ago while Deloy and Ina Richens were staying in Salt Lake City, where Deloy could be close to his doctor, the Richens found out someone had invaded their old home out here and taken all of their antique furniture. Sometime later they happend to go to a swap meet in Salt Lake City and there they found most of their old furniture. The furniture was returned to them and the thief was apprehended. His trial will be held in December. He was from the Basin. Tom and Caralyn Justice have a new daughter born Wednesday, Nov. 19 in the Duchesne County Hospital. She weighed 7 lbs. 12 oz., and was named Amberlynn. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Glen Allred of Gusher and Ruby Justice. Great grandparent is Walter Penfold, California. tfeTf and Tina' Winn ha vg aThew baby boy born Wednesday, Nov. 22 in the Uintah County Hospital. He weighed 7 lbs. 4 oz., and was named Jeffery Lyman. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Winn and Mr. and Mrs. Forest Dupre of California. Great grandparents are Mrs. Eulalia Pringer of Rexburg, Idaho and Mr. and Mrs Pepere Dupre of Tuphank, New York and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brown, Mississippi. Gene Brisbin is still in the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City. She will soon be coming home. |
