Swim, pictured with Pastor David Bahn for the Our Saviour Lutheran Church. New members confirmed at Our Saviour Lutheran Church On Sunday, May 25, Our Saviour Lutheran Church received into membership five new members by confirmation, according to Pastor David Bahn. The five have completed two years of extensive training in the teaching of the Lutheran church from the scriptures. The five who were honored after the service with a congregational pot luck dinner, also gave witness to their learning and understanding of the Christian faith by publicly answering some basic questions directed to them during the worship service that morning. The five were: Miss Teresa Fox, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Fox, formerly of Vernal and now living in Colorado; Miss Laurel Herrmann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gail Herrmann Herr-mann of Vernal; Miss Debbie Lindberg, Lind-berg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Lindberg of Roosevelt; Mr. Gary Swim and Miss Shellie Swim, son and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Swim of Vernal. The above are now communicant com-municant members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church and of Our Saviour Lutheran Church and, according to Pastor Bahn, entitled to all the rights, privileges and responsibilities of membership. 'The congregation, along with these new members view this event as an important event in a young Christian's life when he or she renews his baptismal bap-tismal vow," Pastor Bahn stated. |
