O her mother, Mrs. Ruth Hudson, and her mother in law, Mrs. Ida Waltenen. The occasion celebrat-ed Mrs. Landheim's wedding an-niversary. Mrs. Landheim and family plan to leave the end of this month for Japan where they will join their husband and father. Mrs. Donald Davis and young son of Midvale visited Saturday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Donald G. Reid. Mr. Davis joined them in the evening. Mr. and Mrs. John Nilsson and family, who made their home at 268 Main street, have moved to their new home in Midvale. Mr. and Mrs. Donald G. Reid and Mrs. Dorlesca Kcnner were overnight guests last Wednesday of Mr. and Mrs. Neldon Reid Bishop and family of Orem. Mrs. W. E. Murray and Mrs. Ned Jones left Tuesday night for Richmond, Calif., where they will visit with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Whitman and family for about' two weeks. The Whitman's youngest son, Jack, underwent a serious heart operation yester-- , day (Thursday). . Mrs. Helen T. Praggastis had as dinner guests Sunday Mr. and Robert Davis. Dainty refresh-ments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Dispenza returned home last Saturday from a two weeks' visit in San Francisco, Calif., with their son and daughter in law, Mr. and Mrs. John Dispenza. A family dinner party com-plimenting Miss Connie Stillman and her fiance, A. J. Sargent, was held Sunday at No. 1 Fire hall. Those present besides the honored couple were Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Stillman, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon McFarlane and Miss Myrna McFarlane of Midvale, Mr. and Mrs. Hosmer Peterson and children and Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Longfellow and children. The latter two couples were hosts for the party. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Cowdell of Copperfield visited friends in Richfield Monday. Miss Lawain Cowdell who visited here for returned with them to Richfield where she is making her home at the present time. Miss Gerri Shilling, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Shilling of Copperton, served as one of the attendants to the U. of U. Foun-der's Day queen, Miss Stephanie Rich, at the U. Founders' fete last Thursday. Lt. Gen. Albert C. Wedemeyer, commander of the Chinese theater in World War II, was guest speaker at the banquet. Obtaining marriage licenses in Salt Lake County during the past week were: Kenneth Wynne Foster, 19, Copperton, and Kar-en Eva Cooley, 18, Kanosh, Mill-ard county; Billy Reed Collard, 19, Bingham, and Marilyn Lu-cille Wilson, 21, Salt Lake City. Reported in good condition at St. Mark's hospital was Joseph Mutz, 56, of Bingham, injured Monday afternoon while work-ing at the Combined Metals Re-duction Co. Butterfield canyon property. Mr. Mutz suffered a fractured right leg. He was in-jured while working on a small mine engine which, had been de-railed. A fire alarm Tuesday evening about 8:30 p.m. interrupted the regular weekly meeting of the Bingham Volunteer Fire Depart-ment, when firemen responded to a call at 35 Carr Fork. Defec-tive installation of oil stove was believed to be the cause. Dam-age to stove was estimated about $5.00. Firemen resumed their meeting after answering the call. Mr. and Mrs. James Jimas re-cently returned from an enjoy-able two weeks' visit in Delhi, Calif., with their daughter and son in law, Mr. and Mrs. Em-manuel Kanoupes. They also spent three days . in San Fran-cisco. Mrs. Carl Kanniainen enter-tained Wednesday at a delight-ful luncheon for her sister, Mrs. Elliott Landheim,- - and family; j LOCAL NOTES j Mrs. Dale Johnston was hos-tess to her bridge club on Wed-nesday evening, February 27th. Mrs. John Nilsson of Midvale was an invited guest. Prizes were awarded to Mrs. Nilsson, Mrs. Tom Carrigan and Mrs. Richard C. Rauer. Others present were Mrs. Albert Kastelic, Mrs. V. S. Barlow, Mrs. Harold Chesler and Mrs. Carl Kanniainen. Lovely refreshments were served. Officers of the newly-organize- d state auxiliary of the Frater-nal Order of Eagles and auxil-iary members from Salt Lake City and Murray were guests of the Eagles auxiliary of Bingham Thursday evening February 28th at the BCO hall. Lovely corsages were presented to the state of-ficers. Forty-fiv- e ladies were in attendance and dainty refresh-ments were served. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Baletka and family of Midvale were Tuesday visitors at the home of their par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gar-dik- is of Copperfield. The bridge club met Wednes-day evening, February 27, as guests of Mrs. Dan Delaney.
