Show LOCALISMS. DON'T forget to see "Will and the Way" to-morrow evening. SECURE your tickets for "Will and the Way" to-morrow evening. COMPLAINTS are heard of the stringency of the money market in these parts. TWO feet of snow fell in Logan Canyon, last Sunday, at Beaver Landing, three miles above Maughan's Camp. THE celebrated Joe Bush, writer and inebriate, late of Ogden had an interview with Justice Cummings Wednesday morning and settled for being drunk the previous night. THE Logan Dramatic Club in the grand piece of "Will and the Way or the Mysteries of Carrow Abbey" to-morrow evening, will be the principal feature of the season. THE Y. M. M. I. A. of the Logan First Ward will be reorganized next Sunday evening in the basement of the Tabernacle. Let every young man and boy of the ward be present. LATELY, a lady was walking in the evening along Washington street north of Third, when she attempted to step across a water ditch. The ditch was quite wide, and her foot alighted in the water. A foot bridge should be placed across such places. WE have it from good authority that Bishop Merrill, of Smithfield has about completed arrangements with the Union Pacific railway to finish the Utah & Northern from Dillon to Helena, and it is probably that work will commence in a short time.-Helena Independent. THE attempts of the Logan City authorities to suppress the liquor trade, are watched with great interest at the present time. The Utah Journal-Logan's new exponent-is fully committed to the prohibition policy. Success to the good cause!-Bear Lake Democrat. THE Utah Journal says there are as many as 153 dogs in Logan. A doggoned country, ain't it?-Ogden Herald. Such a pun as this should ?? to ?? the officers of our town, until all unlicensed dogs, whether they have two or four legs, have departed. IN our issue of the 15 inst we reported that an accident had befallen Jacob ?? of Providence by getting crushed between two logs in Beaver Canyon. This young man died this morning from the effects of his injustice. His demise is deeply regretted by family and friends. LADIES complain that they are compelled to avoid passing in front of the Logan House, on account of the crowd of men who usually throng it, engaged in ?? &c., and many, at least, of whom are not guests of the hotel. That corner is getting to be a good place for everybody to avoid. ANDREW JENSEN, alias Petersen, alias Arnsen, etc., the young fellow from Millville, who was one of the two that created the disturbance in Providence on last Saturday evening, after keeping out of the way of the officers till Tuesday evening, reported himself to the sheriff then. Next morning he plead guilty to committing an assault and battery on two different men, and to being drunk and disturbing the peace. For all this fun he paid $30 and costs. A FEW evening since two young ladies entered the post office late in the evening, to mail a letter. The place was very dark, and while they were in it one of them was seized by a man whom they could not recognize on account of the darkness. The young lady who was assaulted broke away and both of them ran screaming out of the building. It appears that we are having lately an influx of miscreants who are capable of any outrage, and it possible a few examples should be made. The Post-office should be provided with a light for the accommodation of the public until the hour for closing mails. |
