MERRILL, Agent. 39 LAST Monday, as a carpenter on Temple block was hewing a heavy timber with an ax, the tool glanced and struck another carpenter, Brother David Burt, of Brigham city on the shoulder, making a serious wound. Mr. D.B.? Lamoreaux sewed it up; nine stitches were required. LOST, between Richmond and Logan, on June 17th, a bay mare colt about two months old, lame in right hind foot. A suitable reward will be paid for information that will lead to its recovery. A FEW days since a stranger in town approached a citizen on Third street, and began cautiously to make some inquiries as to whether there were any institutions of a certain kind in Logan, to which he could resort. The citizen answered that there was not such a place in this city. Occasionally there may be expected to come into our midst men utterly destitute of chaste principle, and the moral of the above is for our ladies to be careful how they receive strangers who come into our midst from unknown quarters, and without reference. |
