Show RAILROADS AND MINES.

Editor Leader:-Thinking that a few items of news from this place would be interesting to your many readers, I write a few lines. At present there seems to be quite and excitement about the railway being constructed down our east canyon by the C. P. company to supply themselves with coal. It is about 35 miles from Paradise to Randolph with a splendid grade of about 64 feet to the mile on each side of the divide, and 15 miles from Paradise to Corinne on a straight line.

We also have a mining district with a recorder living in said district; the boundary line runs thus: Commencing at a point three miles more or less west from a point of the ridge between the so-called Hyrum, Green and Dry canyons, the meredian [meridian] line; running thence east to the divide between Cache and Rich counties, thence south along said divide to the line between Cache and Weber counties, thence west along said line to the aforesaid meridian line to the place of beginning. We have same splendid mining prospects here. Already the valuable iron mine is located and recorded with some others. All is peace with us; our prospects were never better; the health of the people is good. I have also sent you some clippings; if you think well, publish them. Wishing you success in your noble enterprise, I am, Respectfully, Satop. Paradise, Utah, May 4th, 1881. |
