Show DIED. HANSON.-In the first ward, Logan, May 5th, 1881, in childbed, Olgva, wife of H. A. Hansen, aged 26 years, 10 months and 3 days. She had never given birth to any children, and died undelivered of a pair of twins. Her husband, and a large circle of friends, mourn her loss. She was a humble and faithful Latter-day Saint, and passed away in the assurance of a resurrection and re-union with the just.

BURGESS-In this city, May 5th, 1881 of diphtherial croop, John, son of James and Isabella Burgess, aged nine years lacking nine days. He was sick only ten days. His death is a sad loss to his parents and the family, who deeply mourn the loss. He was a boy that was greatly beloved by all his acquaintances, particularly his associates in the Sabbath school in the sixteenth ward of Salt Lake City, where he used to attend, and was much beloved by all. He sleeps in Jesus to await the morning of the first resurrection, when the dead in Christ will come forth. One thing that makes the loss more trying to the family and friends is that he was a twin; his mate, Jennie, died last September in Richmond, in this county. One very singular incident occurred a few days after her death. She had a pair of canary birds which she loved very much. These two birds both died very soon after her death, quite unexpectedly to the family. The news of her death was communicated to the Sabbath school in the Sixteenth ward of Salt Lake city, which produced much sympathy and weeping in her behalf. They were two choice spirits, sent into this world to take bodies, but too good and pure to remain here long in this wicked world.

Earthly happiness be fleeting; Earthly prospects quickly fade; Oh the heart, with pleasure beating, Is to bitterness betrayed. Scenes of sorrow most distressing,

Scenes that fill the heart with pain, Often yield the choicest blessings; Present loss is future gain. Deseret News please copy.-Com. |
