Show MENDON ITEMS. Editor Leader: - I do not wish to trespass on your valuable time, by writing a long letter, but will state that we are, as a settlement, trying to live according to the teachings of our leaders and our better judgment. Our Farmers' and Gardners' Club is now in good working order, and there are a great many who take a lively interest in it, by responding with their means, for the purchase of blooded stock, &c (etc.). Dancing has not been so prevalent this winter as formerly; we have not had a dance since New Year's night, but the Thespian Association have made up for it, by giving several performances. They also performed last week at Newton, Clarkston, and Hyrum (two nights in Hyrum;) they have given general satisfaction, both at home and abroad. It is almost too late in the season to give Logan a call, but we hope to be able to do so next winter. Spring is close upon us, and the farmers' countenances are beginning to brighten up at the prospect of soon being able to go to work and till the soil, and may God bless it for all our sakes and cause it to yield abundantly, is the prayer of your humble servant.
