The scene of lengthened missionary labors on the part of Brother Molen from which we gleaned information of contemplated improvements on the Church plantation on the Island of Late? New sugar works are ??? to be erected at cost of ??? having a capacity of three tons per day; a new meeting house, to cost $2,000 ? also to be erected, and the branches throughout the islands are to contribute a pro rain amount to the building fund. Each branch will be expected to send in its proportion at the next April conference. A contribution of 63 cents per capita of all the Saints on the islands would build the meeting house. Bro. Molen also brought a clipping from a Honolulu paper, giving a graphic description of an eruption of the volcano Mauna Loa which we have not space for in this issue or we would be pleased to give it to our readers. |
