Show AT A RECENT SCIENTIFIC meeting held at the New York Medical University, a paper was read upon a new method of treating cancer. The discovery consists in applying to the surface of the sore the chlorate of chromium, a new salt of this rare metal, incorporated into stramonium ointment. This preparation in a few hours converts the tumor into a perfect carbon and it crumbles away. Specimens of cancer carbonized were inspected by a number of physicians which had the appearance of charcoal and were easily pulverized between the ?[fingers]. The remedy causes little or no pain and is not poisonous. |
