Show THE OUTING ??? JUBILEE. Pursuant to notice given a joint meeting of the music committee and Sunday school superintendents of this Stake was held in the basement of the Tabernacle on Saturday last, Supt.[Superintendent] O.C. Ormsby presiding. After singing, meeting was opened by prayer by Supt. Langton. Roll called and sixteen schools represented. After the object of the meeting had been stated by the Supt., selections of the pieces to be sung at the Jubilee were tried, and the following adopted, Viz. [namely] "Thanksgiving Hymn," "Children's Song," "Shining Ones," "Welcome to All," "Sons of Judea," "Marching Homeward," "Songs of the Heart," "?[Tis] Sabbath Day," "Happy Songs," "Awake Ye Soldiers," "Let the Children Praise Him," and "Boys to the Front." On motion of Supt. Leatham it was decided to hold these meetings on the last Saturday in each month at 10 a.m. It was also moved and carried that the Jubilee be held on the 18th of September commencing at 10 a.m. The superintendents were requested to look into the merits of their schools and report at the next meeting what they could present for the Jubilee. Elder Wm. [William] Knowles having tendered his resignation as music director for the Sunday schools of Cache Co. [County], the subject was brought up for consideration and on motion he was honorably released, and a vote of thanks returned for his efficient services in the past. Reference was made to the coming 24th of July and it was desired that it should be celebrated as far as possible by the Sunday schools throughout Cache County. After singing meeting was adjourned until the last Saturday in June at 10 a.m. Benediction by J.A. Woolf. ?[E] Hansen, Secretary. |
