Show HINTS FOR FARMERS. <br><br> Chopped onions are excellent for all kinds of fowls and quickly drive all kinds of vermin away. <br><br> The best herds of dairy cows in this country yield from six to eight hundred pounds of cheese per cow. <br><br> Cattle hoofs at the present time are worth $50 per ton. These hoofs are now made into horn buttons. <br><br> A framer should look ahead, think in advance of his work, and have his plans well laid. The winter is a good time for mental labor. <br><br> There are very few worms and insects for the poultry to pick up yet, and they should be fed meat three or four times a week with their other food. <br><br> The desire for large animals is not always judicious. With cows it is questionable if the largest are the best, when the cost of feeding is considered. |
