Show Father Daniel Miller of Farmington while lately visiting among his relatives in Providence contracted a cold which resulted in his death on the 4th ? at the residence of his daughter ? Hammond of Providence. Father Miller was widely known throughout the church. He was baptized in 18? Came to Utah in 1848, and was the first settler at Farmington, Davis County. He leaves fifteen children, all of whom we understand are married, and a large number of grand and great-grandchildren. He was a patriarch indeed, having made himself the father and head of a large family, and among his descendants a fidelity to the principles of the gospel is a marked trait. He was born in the state of New York, Aug. 11, 1809, and was consequently, aged 74 years, 3 months and 23 days. He made a good use of time allotted to him upon the earth, and those whom he has left have no need to mourn his departure. Peace to the remains of Father Miller! |
