The Protection which the Dingley Tariff insures to home industry starts the wheels of the American manufacturers, gives employment to hundreds of thousands of. hands hitherto idle, advances wages in many branches of labor, increases the average purcheses of necessities and comforts of each member of the community, and brings the change in general conditions which makes the difference between bad times and good. Then as the purchasing purchas-ing ability of the people increases the demand for foreign made goods gradually revives, importations grow and the revenues expand. That is all there is to it.
