Show CREAMERY STARTS ON THE 15TH OF' JULY Cash Will be Paid for All Butter Fat Received. Enterprise Means Much for the Farmers of the . Reservation Shipments of Cream Can be Made from Any Point. S Before the next issue of the Duchesne Record. C. W. Van Auken of Chicago, m the service department of the Hastings j . Industrial company, will have arrived in Duchesne. Mr. Van Auken will remain here several weeks, and visit the country . tributary, instructing farmers as to the proper care and hand- j Is ling of milk and butter fat for shipment to the Duchesne & s$ creamery. g y J. W. Dixon, who has been here several months in charge of the building of the creamery and the installation of the j a machinery, will be in readiness to start the plant in operation $ 2 by the 15th. On that date the new institution will be ready p to receive all of the butter fat in the Uintah basin and in re- $5 turn will pay cash foi; the cream. vs j' Arrangements are being made for shipments from any 'J and every part of the reservation, which is made possible i ?4 from that fact that Duchesne is closely connected with every jjf stage line and cream can therefore be shipped tothe reserva- Jjl tion's first creamery from every community with but littte & ! trouble and expense to the consignor. $ sj The Duchesne creamery is the first enterprise established Jjf on the reservation which makes it possible for the farmer to ! S receive each month a sure-enough pay check. No trading, no js swapping, no "store pay," but real, actual hard cash. js ja While The Record is interested in the creamery from a j community standpoint, nevertheless it is also interested in the js i new project .from the farmer's side .of the -question.. It is im- . & possible to impress upon them too strongly the great value jj it means to them. Every landowner on the reservation is in- dependent in future possibilities but the little cash along the jjs way has been so conspicuously lacking that oftentimes its j absence has discouraged the most determined settlers. The opportunity for a little easier going is made possible by the new creamery. Just a little more change each month, ! a few more of the necessaries, a little closer to self-sustenance f- and independence. )!z |
