Show JACK McQUEENEY Y DIES IN IX SALT Jill I Park City Record It will deep regret that the he many friends of John McQueeney will read of his hi's death which at the Mercy Judge hospital Salt Lake last Saturday morning after a short illness with the always dreaded dread dread- ed pneumonia The Record last week mentioned the facts fact that Mr 11 McQueeney had had been stricken with his fatal illness while at work at the Cardiff mine over in the Cottonwoods where he had been working but iut a short time He was immediately taken talen to Salt Salt Lake where everything possible was none lone one to save his life but to no no avail His Ifs brother brother- Wm McQueeney his only relative in inthis this country and who for the past ten years has been been been- farming near Duchesne Utah was notified of f his brothers brother's illness anc and immediately came on to Salt Lake reaching the bedside of the sufferer two days before his death John McQueeney was wa born in the County of Rose Common Ireland 55 years ago He came to America when a young man living in ill New York and Chicago for a short time before coming west He came to Utah In 1887 and followed min mining ng He was in the saloon business where Wm Vm Donovan now now is is but did not make a success of the venture He then went to Butte Montana where he lie served on the police force of that city for a few years He returned to o the Park and later served on the police force of this city for two years under eider a Democratic administration Since that time he worked in the different mines of the camp Mr McQueeney was a a perfect t specimen P of physical Y manhood and was vas one of those good natured jolly joly jol jol- jol- jol ly tr y witted quick Irishmen who scattered sunshine by his natural jollity and was popular and beloved in n consequence His death will be bea beL a L severe blow to his man many friends Besides his brother VilU William m he is survived by an aged father ther two brothers and two sisters in Ireland and nd to those loved ones sympathy is I extended in their bereavement f |
