Show This Work Is Not For C.C.C. This week's issue of the Vernal Express contains eleven Inches of valuable space devoted to an impossible imposs-ible ballyhoo concerning- the mployment of C. C. C. men on surfacing of Highway 40. ' Whatever work is to be i done on the highway must be done by the unemployed of the Uintah Rasin. The Civilian Conservation Corps was organized to care for as j large a group as possible of I the unemployed in reforesta-i reforesta-i tion projects, not to compete I with those who remain In j their homes, unemployed. We have a definite unera-I unera-I ployment problem in the I Uintah Basin and we need not close our eyes to it. Everyhing possible must be done to provide work for these people who are without with-out Income through no fault of their own. Whatever employment em-ployment is to be had j through the surfacing of j highway 40 belongs to them. 1 |
