Show Tabiona News by Florence Turn bow ' ' , j - - I;- ;'' f i L t - rl. ,.- - i Carol Turnbow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Burnell Turnbow, has received her mission call to the Texas Mission. Her testimonial testi-monial will be March 6 at 7:00 p. m. at the Tabiona Ward Chapel. Cha-pel. She will enter the Mission home on March 7. Carol graduated from Tabiona Tab-iona High School in 1963, also from LDS Seminary, served 1 year as secretary of the Tabiona High School, 2 years as a pep club member and as secretary in her senior year. L year as a Cheerleader for the Tigers, and was chosen as Athletic Queen. She attendedthe BYU one year. She earned seven individual indi-vidual awards from her church. At the present time she is on the M Men and Glearners Council Coun-cil as secretary of the North 13 Ward at Salt Lake City. Carol worked ten months at the Genealogical Society in Salt Lake CZity, and her one year at the alteration department at Aurbacks Department Store. Her headquarters will be at Dallas, Texas. M-Men of the Tabiona Ward received a trophy Saturday evening eve-ning on their last game for sportsmanship. sport-smanship. They played a Whit-erocks Whit-erocks and won. M-Men who played this year swere Nolen Giles, Gary DeLange, Dennis Jones, Brent and Jerry Lee, and Boyd Turnbow. Ralph M. Giles was the coach. Tabiona Scout Troup 263 went to Heber City swimming Saturday. Scouts who enjoyed the day were Kevin Van Tassell, Kent Hackett, Ronald and Jimmy Jim-my Lefler, Lavaughn Gines, Steven Humes, Lance Webb, Aaron and Clyde Rhoades, Brace and Brent Jones, Ray Hackett, Earl Van Tassell and Tex Gines, went for swimming. Earl Van Tassell visited Mrs. Nora Lefevre who isn't feeling very well, while there. At .'Sacrament meeting Sunday evening Steve Odgen who is attending the BYU gave an interesting sermon on the principal of Prayer. Teresa Ellcrtson and Wilda Wadley sang a duet -entitled"Hc. " They were accompanied by Carleene Williams. Wil-liams. Leonal Webb spoke on "Communism", Kirk Webb was voted on to be ordained to a priest at the meeting. Once again the Primary is sponsoring the yearly "Penny Parade" of the Primary Childrens Hospital. Tabiona Ward Primary officers will call at your homes this week for your birthday pennies. pen-nies. The 3rd, 4th, Sth and 6th grades at Tabiona received their "Tonnetts". Their teacher Mrs. Rene Morin will help the children lqarn to play. Mrs. Gay Brady and family of Elco, Nevada spent two days visiting Mr. and Mrs. Claude Waestaff. , j J Mr. and Mrs. Ron Hold and family of Suracuse and Sandra Wadley spent Saturday and Sunday visiting at Mr. and Mrs. William Wadley' s. A special Scout program was held February 6th at the Tabions Church Sunday evening Troop 263, Tabiona Boy Scouts, enjoyed en-joyed a successful swimming trip February 12th at the Mtn. Spaw in Heber. Joseph Rhoades spent two weeks visiting and going through the Salt Lake Temple at Salt Lake. He visited two days at Mr. and Mrs. George Clements of Provo. He returned home Friday with Doyle Turnbow. Mrs. Edna Giles was in Salt Lake last week visiting with her families, Mrs. Alma Wilcox, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Giles, and Mr. and Mrs. Weldon Van Tassell and family. Mrs. Giles consulted consul-ted her doctor while there. Mr. and Mrs. Max Stanley and family of Kearns visited Thursday and Friday at Mrs. Ada Stanleys. Mr. and IsIrs. Delyle Giles of Salt Lake City visited Saturday Satur-day with Mr. and Mrs. George Giles. Richard Turnbow of Provo spent Sunday at Mr. and Mrs. Burnell Turnbows. Dinner guests at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Bert Bancorft Sunday-were Sunday-were Mr. & Mrs. Bud Brancroft and family and Mr. & Mrs. Jerry Mieure and family. The dinner was in honor of their daughter-in-law, Shirley, whose birthday was the next day. |
