Boon who had been born there February 19 1871 The couple married in Wisconsin April 15 1889 A daughter daugh daugh- ter Mrs Grace Dalgleish of Myton Myton Myton My- My ton was born in Wisconsin Moved Io To Aspen Colorado In 1893 the family moved to Aspen Aspen As As- pen Colorado where Mr Hart received re- re employment with the Denver Denver Den Den- ver vcr and Rio Grand Railroad He Hela la later tel carried mail In Aspen for several years and still later operated operated operated oper oper- a rural route between Aspen and Ashcroft From this Mr Harts Hart's activities expanded into a livery feed and transfer business including a contract to haul the mail from train to Post Office Mrs Hart also during this time worked for several years in the Post Office In 1907 shortly after the opening opening opening open open- ing of the Basin Mr Hart came to what was then Theodore Mrs H Hart rt came later during the sum- sum 1908 returning to Aspen in inthe inthe inthe the winter where Grace graduated in the spring of 1909 when they again joined Mr Hart They homesteaded a farm on Blue Bench near the old townsite of Blue Mesa resa Fire Firc Losses Almost steadily since that time Mr Hart has been connected with some type of business in hi Duchesne This started with a partnership in inthe inthe inthe the Hart and Dalgleish confectionery confection confection- ery in a frame building near the Pierson Garage This later moved to the building which with the Duchesne hotel burned down following the war During the war Mr Hart operated a billiard room while Mrs Hart and her daughter oper operated ted the partnership business Following this burnout the Harts moved to Cal California fornia for fora a year and then opened a store in Soldiers Soldier's Summit was also lost by fire Active In Civic Affairs In 1925 the Harts purchased the James Hair grocery and dry goods store which they operated for 10 years finally selling it in the fall of 1935 when they began construe tion of the tourist apartments which they are now operating During these years Mr Hart has always taken an active part in civic matters He has served several several several sev sev- eral times as city councilman was an active member of the Gateway club and is third vice-president vice of the new Duchesne Lions Club In speaking of their 50 years of mar- mar riad life Mrs Hart said they have been Interesting and happy years She added however that she would not consider living another 50 years ears with any man |
