P Madsen was vas on on the job each day checking on the hunters and bolstering tt up A their belief in good A few v rabbit hunters were vere handled in a quiet fair manner and andall andall andall all in all everyone feels pretty good about the entire hunt Incidentally the Uintah Basin is many dollars richer with the always welcome foreign money left here by sportsmen from the West and South Right now v would be a mighty good time for those who vho profited from these extra dollars to make a little contribution contribution contribution con con- to the respective game a clubs of the basin to help insure the advancement of all outdoor sports here which as s a group could easily be made one of the Basins Basin's s greatest assets We believe a word vord of appreciation to the farmers farm farm- ers of the county who vho have furnished most of the feed for the pheasants cannot be amiss and we ve believe believe be- be lieve the sportsmen all appreciate this condition We have heard of no damage to livestock or other ther property property property prop prop- erty no trespassing where properties were vere posted or hunters warned varned to stay off This shows vs a fine attitude attitude attitude at at- on the part of the sportsmen and should leave leavea a good t taste ste in n. n the mou mouths hs o of those who vho as property owners o furnish furnish so much to the cause WE SAW SAV SOME POOR FARMING Not only in game but in everything that grows nature has been very kind to the Uintah Basin this fall Anyone who vho tramped over fields for several hours dur during dUling in the hunt must have been impressed with the evidence almost every place of an abundant har har- vest Some farms in Arcadia showed ved evidence not only of abundance but of actual over-abundance over or of plain poor management Why anyone should leave great patches of corn standing as it grew v with 1 to 3 ears of good corn on nearly every stock t to o fall fallin fallin fallin in the fields and rot under the snow v is more than this writer can explain It takes a lot of work vork to raise fields of corn like some we ve saw v and i it seems like criminal waste not to harvest the products either as grain to fatten livestock or as silage to produce milk and beef throughout the thet t v I It t looks like Duchesne Duchesne Du Du- chesne County is sorely in n ne d of a County Agent to show the way and prod s some some someI I of our farmers along I to taking advantage of the results exults of their own o la la- la-I la bor bore And corn was vas not the only y produce w we ve e saw v left ted in the fields |
