Schonian, a member of the board of education agreed to help Tabiona put water in their school building by furnishing $100.00 for the project. Tabiona was to furnish $50.00 in cash and the labor for the laying of the 114 yards of pipe line. To obtain the $50.00, the school teachers put on a play and dance, from which all but $5.00 of the money was obtained. Those who gave their time and services were as follows: William Ivie, Ervin Ivie, Byrle Gines, Dan Gines, Clynt Gasper, Clarence Casper, John Pace, Warren Langdon, Laurance Maxwell, LaVon Sizemore, Charley Bertolo, William Nye, Craig Wilcken, Ber-ne- ll Rhoades, Morris Atwood, Grayson Jones, Lee Jones and Harold Frandson. Many people of the community hired others to dig the trench for them. The school children are now waiting for the school board to fulfill their part of the bargain, then the Tabiona school will be delighted to have anyone come and enjoy its cool, fresh spring water. School Dance Successful seemed to enjoy Everyone himself on October 1st at the opening danc given by the Tabiona High School student body. Enough money was taken in to encourage the- - student body to plan their school program in advance. It is as follows: Faculty play, October 29 th; Christmas program, December 17; Elementary program, January 28; Junior promenade, February 25; High School Opera, March 11th; High School Garduating Exercises, May 19th; The Rhythm Band The first, second and third grades have started a rhythm band. Miss Cope Is the teacher. The third grade and part of the second practice first. Then the rest of the second and the first Some beat on grades practice. Some have nails. with shoes horse balls and some have rhythm sticks. One member of the band has sandpaper covered blocks which he rubs together. Miss Cope plays the piano, and we all paly our instruments and keep time with the music. It sounds very pretty, almost like a real band. We have practiced three times so far, and we hope that before long we can be able to play a whole tune together without missing a beat. At the beginning of school the 6th and 7th grades sold Ice cream. We made $8.00 on it. We gave the money to Mr, Mickelson to buy underlibrary books , with the board standing that the school amount would put up the same of money as we did. We also gave him a list of the books we wanted. Our order called for 19 of the best books we could find, selected from an approved list. The order has been placed and about arhalf of the these books have use. continuous rived.
