B. I. C. For fourteen years citizens from all parts of the Uintah Basin have been gathering at Fort Duchesne to attend the annual Uintah Basin Industrial Convention during the first or second week of August. Conducted as a purely educational and recreational event, free to everyone who wishes to come, is has grown to such magnitude that it is probably safe to say that at least 75 per cent of the inhabitants of Duchesne and Uintah counties, old and young, attend one or more of the three days sessions every year. Each year also finds an increased number of visitors from outside points, and comments and requests for information concerning its management and success are received from all corners of the nation. It grows, and will continue to grow because it is planned and managed by and for the people of the Uintah Basin. No admissions are charged, and there is no array of concessions and amusements to lure the visitors dollar. Only food concessions and demonstrations of home and farm equipment are allowed on the grounds. The visitor is left free to enjoy lectures, music, sports, specialized demonstrations and exhibits, or merely to discuss the topic of the day with his neighbors and friends. The U. B. I. C. has been aptly called a clearing house for the problems of the people of the basin. Its aim and ideal are probably no better expressed than in the slogan adopted for this year: Inventory and Evaluate our Resources; Replan and Develop the Basin. WE SHOULD SUPPORT BASIN PRODUCTS What appears to be a peculiar contradiction between the words and action of the state road commission, is their refusal to use any but an insignificant test stretch of the gilsonite road oil, supplied by the Pariette mine, a Uintah Basin enterso-call- ed Estate of LARS NELSON, Deceased. Creditors will present jlaima with vouchers to the unat Neola, Duchesne dersigned County, Utah, on or before the 8th day of October, 1936. HENRY NELSON, VERLAND NELSON, MAXFIELD- - NELSON, Executors. By 1748, however, even the seamen were wearing standardized colors. The first American naval uniform, says Pathfinder Magazine, Is believed to have been the green and white authorized by the Massachusetts council In 1776. The word uniform Is derived from Latin words meaning oue and "form. given that Uintah Basin Construction Company, a corporation, and Uintah Basin Irrigation Company, a corporation, have filed in the above entitled court a petition for extension of time to make proof of appropriation of water as conFile by applications templated Nos. 3306 and 3848, in the office of the State Engineer of the State of Utah. This results in laws favoring the whims and fancies of minority constituents instead of laws favoring the welfare of the whole people. To guard against this, our Constitution creates a system ot checks and balances. It provides (li for a House of Representatives balanced against 'a Senate, 12) with the two bouses of Congress balanced against an executive who (3) can approve or veto acts of Congress, and Hi for a Supreme Court balanced against both Congress and the executive..
